The Grand TTD Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple Project
The establishment of the magnificent Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in the Khammam district marks a monumental milestone in the spiritual and cultural landscape of Telangana. Spearheaded by concerted administrative efforts and immense public devotion, this grandiose project brings the divine aura of Tirumala closer to millions of devotees in the region. The temple is coming up in an expansive 20.4-acre site situated between Allipuram and Kothagudem villages under the Raghunadhapalem mandal footprint close to the Khammam Municipal Corporation limits and the Khammam–Devarapalli Greenfield National Highway.
The project was officially sanctioned by the TTD through funding allocations totaling approximately Rs113 crore overall, with around Rs 89 crore dedicated directly to the main temple complex structure, and the remaining allocated for complementary spiritual infrastructure like a Vedic school and marriage hall.
Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao played an instrumental role, leveraging his stature and diplomatic outreach to coordinate with TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu and the Andhra Pradesh government, ensuring land allocation and swift project approvals. Foundation stone was laid on October 12.
Advantage to Khammam Municipal Corporation: The mega project transforms Khammam into a major spiritual tourism hub, boosting local infrastructure, hospitality, employment, regional economy, and organized urban development around the urban periphery.
