Telangana Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has issued a strong warning to opposition leaders during the Edulapuram municipality election campaign. Speaking at a corner meeting at Warangal Cross Road on Monday, the Minister Ponguleti slammed rivals for allegedly resorting to phone threats and creating unrest. He stated that the government would not tolerate any “anarchy” or illegal activities under the guise of politics. He warned that once the elections conclude on the 11th, strict legal action including imprisonment would be taken against anyone who crossed their limits, collected illegal funds (extortions), or harassed the public.
The Minister Ponguleti emphasized that the people of Edulapuram would put an end to such “goondaism” with their votes. He questioned how opposition parties could promise development without being in power, asserting that only the current government has the resources to complete major works. Launching a scathing attack on the previous BRS regime, he criticized “the Doras” (lords) for failing to provide housing for the poor during their ten-year rule.

Highlighting the Congress government’s achievements in just two years, Reddy mentioned the issuance of new ration cards and the hike in diet charges for hostel students. He also made a significant announcement: the second phase of the Indiramma Houses will be sanctioned this April. Additionally, he promised to take personal responsibility for providing land titles (pattas) to poor families living on government lands.
Reddy concluded by promising to transform Edulapuram into a model municipality for the state. He assured residents that the Munneru retaining wall would be completed before the next monsoon to protect flood victims. Following the meeting, the Minister led a massive rally with thousands of supporters from Warangal Cross Road to Naidupeta Circle.
