Interaction with a Delegation of MPs, MLAs and Other Public Representatives from Telangana on Railway Development
Union Minister for Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the on-going projects in Telangana are key for the development of not only to the State but also to the country. Ashwini Vaishnaw, who interacted a delegation of public representatives including MPs and MLAs from Telangana, discussed key railway development and connectivity projects in the state with them. He said that the DPR (Detailed Project Report) o Adilabad–Armur New Railway Line for the proposed railway line has been completed and the project will soon be taken forward for the approval process.
On Hyderabad as a High-Speed Rail Hub, the Minister highlighted plans to develop Hyderabad as a major high-speed rail hub, with an approach to locate it within the city to ensure maximum public benefit. Apart from these projects, several other important railway projects were also discussed. He said that Instructions were given to incorporate all local industrial/factory traffic sources and regional freight inputs directly into the DPR study to ensure comprehensive viability.
On Hyderabad Circular Railway Alignment Urban Connectivity, he said that the proposed Circular Railway Network for Hyderabad must be routed strategically, so that it passes closer to key urban centers, to maximize passenger convenience. He emphasized the necessity of a highly scientific alignment plan designed to address Hyderabad’s growing commuting needs effectively. He said the design should be as long-term vision and forward-looking and built to seamlessly serve the mobility requirements of the city for decades to come.
