Telangana Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy made a strong pitch for development during a massive roadshow for the Edulapuram Municipal elections on Friday. He promised voters that if they elect Congress candidates, he would personally take the responsibility to transform and develop the region. The roadshow, which began at Reddipalli, saw a huge turnout as it moved through various wards including Muttagudem, Gollagudem, and Teldarupalli, with local residents welcoming the Minister with traditional honors and fireworks.

Critique of the Past and Vision for the Future
During his address at major junctions, the Minister took a sharp dig at the previous BRS government and former CM KCR. He remarked that the past “Dora” administration lacked even the basic sense to provide ration cards to the poor during their ten-year rule. In contrast, he stated that the current “People’s Government” is committed to fulfilling the dream of homeownership. He announced that 587 Indiramma houses have already been sanctioned for Edulapuram in the first phase, and the second list will be released as soon as the election code ends.
Support for Farmers and New Joinings

Addressing the agricultural crisis of the past, Ponguleti questioned how those who once threatened farmers with “paddy is a death trap” (Vari veste uri) could now ask for votes. He highlighted that the Congress government is actively supporting farmers by providing a Minimum Support Price (MSP) along with a bonus for paddy.
The campaign’s momentum was further boosted as nearly 40 families from the BRS and CPI parties joined the Congress fold. At his Khammam camp office, the Minister officially welcomed these new members, led by leader Tappetla Gidjon (Munna), signaling a significant political shift in the region ahead of the polls.
