(Part 4)
What is the truth? According to the CBI, it was established that there is no animal fat within the Ghee or Laddu of Sri Venkateshwara. To a great extent, it’s relieved, and one should believe, as study and investigation. The problem should have ended with it. But the politics do not allow it finish. Some want to finish a political party, while the other wants to continue in power for another term. There is nothing new or unreasonable. But what is happening now in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and all those concerned with the ‘pollution’ of sacred Prasadam of Sri Venkateshwara Swamy? Again, the problem will continue for vested interests. Vested interests in religion, sentiments, Bhakti, and devotion will dilute the significance of the value of sanctity.
January 24, 2026: Implication of final charge sheet?
The CBI-led SIT completed its investigation and filed the final chargesheet in the Tirumala laddu ghee adulteration case before the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court in Nellore, naming 36 accused, including supplier directors and key procurement officials. Adulterated ghee (mixed with palm and chemical oils) was supplied between 2019 and 2024. Approximately 68 lakh kg of adulterated ghee entered the TTD supply chain, worth around Rs 250 crore. Accused include directors of Bhole Baba Organic Dairy, former procurement managers at TTD, and traders allegedly involved in bypassing quality checks and submitting false documents to win tenders.
The people have a right to further investigation and strong action into allegations of Chinnappanna, who is associated with bigwigs of TTD, against the officers who indulged in coercion and intimidation.
What about the Government Accountability & Public Faith
The order from the Supreme Court underscores that CBI is not a law unto itself. Its supervisory powers are bounded by judicial clarity. For millions of devotees, this judgment signals that courts remain the ultimate bulwark against executive overreach in matters of faith. Above all, the question is “Federal Balance”. The ruling illustrates how courts manage the delicate interplay between state actions, central agencies, and religious institutions.
This case is more than a procedural spat; it is a constitutional reaffirmation of judicial supremacy in the separation of powers framework. By clipping the wings of the CBI Director, the Court sent a strong message: even the most powerful investigative agency must operate within the four corners of judicial directions. Had the Court endorsed CBI’s stance, it would have set a dangerous precedent where bureaucratic interpretations could dilute the sanctity of Supreme Court orders. It has serious implications beyond the TTD Board or the Executive Government led by the AP CM, and the devotees’ word over, if not God.
What about transparency?
The judgment resonates with a broader theme: transparency in high-stakes investigations is non-negotiable. When probes intersect with religious faith, political narratives, and public trust, compliance with judicial directions is not just a legal necessity—it is a democratic imperative.
Finally, in the Tirupati Laddu case, the Andhra Pradesh High Court didn’t merely decide who should investigate; it upheld the principle that “the rule of law is supreme, not rule by law.”
In doing so, it turned an emotive controversy into a jurisprudential milestone—one that will echo in future debates on the scope of judicially monitored investigations.
The blatant violation of every aspect of the apex order and principles of law, equivalent to 7 boulders or Catastrophes as much as Seven Hillocks of Edukondalu (Tirumala).
