Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka stated that the Congress party’s victory in the Telangana municipal elections is a clear sign of public trust. Speaking at a media briefing in Madhira on Monday, he highlighted that the party won nearly 90 to 95 municipalities across the state. He credited this success to the transparent governance, development projects, and welfare schemes implemented by the Congress government over the last two years.
Vikramarka noted that these results serve as a strong response to critics who claimed the Congress party was only popular in rural areas. He emphasized that voters have shown the same immense support in these municipal polls as they did in the Assembly, Parliament, and Panchayat elections. He stated that, the state cabinet, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, has successfully balanced urban development with social welfare.
Economic Goal: Target of a $3 trillion economy by 2047
Looking ahead, Bhatti Vikramarka shared the government’s ambitious goal to transform Telangana into a $3 trillion economy by 2047. He explained that the state is not just competing with other Indian states but aims to compete with developed nations globally. Through the “2047 Vision Document,” the government plans to turn Telangana into a global hub by focusing on infrastructure, industrialization, and job creation to keep up with rapid urbanization.
He also highlighted the “Pure – Cure – Rare” policy introduced by CM Revanth Reddy for urban development. This initiative aims to increase accountability in municipal administration and improve the quality of life for citizens. Before the press meet, the Deputy CM participated in the election process for the Madhira Municipal Chairman and Vice-Chairman as an ex-officio member. He congratulated Samineni Sujatha and Kona Dhani Kumar of the Congress party on their election to these posts.
