Senior Congress leader and former minister Tatiparthi Jeevan Reddy has officially resigned from the primary membership of the Congress party. He announced his decision in Jagtial in the presence of his supporters. While releasing his resignation letter, Jeevan Reddy launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the party’s high command, expressing deep dissatisfaction with the current leadership.

The veteran leader stated that he had been undergoing severe mental distress for the last 20 months. He explained that he could no longer remain in a party where he felt disrespected. Jeevan Reddy specifically criticized the state leadership for encouraging political defections, arguing that this practice goes against the principles of Rahul Gandhi. He was particularly upset by the induction of Jagtial MLA Dr. Sanjay Kumar into the party and the high priority being given to him.
Jeevan Reddy lamented that original workers, who struggled for ten years to bring Congress to power, are now being sidelined. Meanwhile, those who previously harassed the party cadre are being rewarded with top positions. He also expressed personal hurt, claiming the Chief Minister failed to offer support or even visit after the death of a key associate. Declaring a direct challenge, he stated that his future fight would be against Revanth Reddy’s policies.
Despite last-minute attempts by Ministers Sridhar Babu, Ponnam Prabhakar, and TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud to pacify him, Jeevan Reddy remained firm on his decision. With his exit, a significant portion of his strong follower base in Jagtial is expected to follow him, marking a major shift in the region’s politics.
