Telangana Minister for Revenue, Housing, and Information, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, has called for the successful implementation of the “Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika” (People’s Governance – Progress Plan). Speaking at a review meeting for the combined Khammam district on Friday, chaired by District In-charge Minister Vakiti Srihari, he emphasized that officials must work with total commitment to resolve grassroots issues through a 99-day special action plan.
Key Focus Areas of the 99-Day Plan

- Fixing Drainage Infrastructure: The Minister expressed concern over faulty drainage systems in municipalities and corporations. He noted that stagnant water due to poor engineering levels is posing health risks to citizens. He ordered engineering officials to identify these spots immediately, rectify the levels, and reconstruct faulty structures if necessary. He also stated that the officials originally responsible for these errors must be held accountable.
- Resolving Land Disputes: A major priority of this plan is to permanently end the long-standing boundary disputes between the Forest and Revenue departments. Minister Reddy highlighted that farmers in areas like Kothagudem, Sathupalli, Yellandu, and Wyra are suffering because of these conflicts. He directed Collectors and District Forest Officers (DFOs) to conduct joint field surveys to finalize boundaries without further delay.
- Training for Local Representatives: To improve governance at the village and town levels, a one-day training program will be held on March 12th for newly elected Sarpanches, Councilors, Mayors, and Chairpersons. The goal is to provide clarity on fund utilization and transparent administration. The Minister noted that pending panchayat funds are now being released and must be spent effectively for village development.
- Modernizing Agriculture: Concerned about the excessive use of fertilizers and pesticides damaging soil health, the Minister instructed agricultural officers to conduct soil tests for every farmer. Under the 99-day plan, farmers will be educated on crop rotation and modern technology. He even suggested organizing government-funded field trips for farmers to observe successful agricultural models in other regions.

Service Above Politics
Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy concluded by urging all public representatives to move past political differences. He emphasized that once elections are over, everyone must work together for the people. He called on officials to focus specifically on Education, Health, and Agriculture to ensure that the government’s vision reaches every citizen effectively.
