- Congress Ministers Absent from ‘Unity March’
- It is nothing but disrespecting for National Integrity
- Real Estate Scam under the Guise of “Future City”
BJP National Leader and Co-Incharge for Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, on Tuesday, launched a strong attack on the Congress government, condemning the absence of their ministers and MLAs from the ‘Unity of March’ program held in Khammam to honor Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. Speaking at a press conference at the BJP District Office, Mr. Reddy stressed that the ‘Unity March’ was a national program transcending party lines, not merely a party event.

Narrow-Mindedness and Vote Bank Politics
Ponguleti criticized the Congress for their conspicuous absence, stating it was a clear indication of their narrow-mindedness. “It is surprising and saddening that despite the presence of ministers and the official machinery in the district, they failed to attend the Unity March,” Ponguleti said. He further alleged that Congress leaders are deliberately ignoring Patel’s greatness”out of fear of the Majlis party and for the sake of vote bank politics.”
He indirectly remarked on the alleged appeasement, asserting that while the Vande Mataram anthem is respected nationwide, it is being sidelined in Telangana. The BJP leader called the neglect of national icons like Patel on the eve of Constitution Day (November 26) a sign of the Congress’s inappropriate “arrogance.”
Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy made sensational accusations, claiming the government has abandoned governance and is instead engaging in a “real estate business” under attractive names like “Future City.” He alleged that a massive, covert scheme has been devised to change the ‘land use’ of thousands of acres of industrial lands under the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TIIIC) from industrial to “Public Utility.” The government must immediately release a ‘White Paper’ on this alleged scam. He demanded an immediate all-party meeting to protect public assets.
Telangana Drowning in Rs. 10 Lakh Crore Debt
Detailing the state’s dire financial condition, Ponguleti attacked the Congress government, providing concerning statistics. Out of the monthly revenue of Rs. 18,000 crores, a staggering Rs. 13,000 crores is being spent solely to pay the interest and installments on old loans. He lamented that the state is facing a situation where there are no funds even for employee salaries. The state has been pushed into a Rs. 10 lakh crore debt burden within a year by incurring Rs. 3 lakh crores in new loans.
Injustice to BCs and Farmer Distress
He expressed anger over the failure to implement 42% reservations for Backward Classes (BCs) in the upcoming Panchayat elections, calling it a betrayal. He criticized the decision to rush into elections without a scientific basis, alleging that not a single Sarpanch seat has been allotted in areas with a high BC population.
He scoffed at local Congress leaders for promoting centrally-funded schemes (like the Amrit Bharat railway station beautification and fertilizer subsidies) as their own achievements. Ponguleti alleged that at the ground level, farmer loan waivers have not been completed, no compensation has been given for untimely rain losses, and there is no mention of a bonus for paddy procurement.
Along with Mr. Reddy, BJP District President Nelluri Koteswara Rao, and other leaders, including IV Ramesh, Namburi Ramalingeswara Rao, Guttha Venkateshwarlu, Mandadapu Subbarao, and Naidu Raghavarao, took part in the Unity March and press conference.
