A massive tragedy has taken place in Maharashtra as the state’s Deputy Chief Minister and NCP leader, Ajit Pawar, passed away in a plane crash. The accident occurred on Wednesday morning near Baramati in Pune district. According to official reports, the small aircraft was carrying five people, including Ajit Pawar, two pilots, and his security team. Sadly, there were no survivors.
Details of the Incident

- The Journey: Ajit Pawar left Mumbai at around 8:00 AM to travel to Baramati for four public meetings related to the upcoming local body elections.
- The Crash: At approximately 8:45 AM, while the plane was attempting to land at the Baramati airport, it reportedly encountered technical issues. The aircraft lost control and crash-landed in a nearby field.
- The Aftermath: Visuals from the site showed the wreckage of the plane engulfed in thick smoke and fire. Rescue teams and ambulances reached the spot immediately, but the impact was so severe that all occupants died on the spot.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has initiated a high-level inquiry to determine if the crash was caused by technical failure or other factors. This sudden loss has sent shockwaves across the country, with leaders from all political parties expressing their deep grief.
