The film captures Julie’s immense agony and the biological longing to nurse her child. Her cries for her baby are heart-wrenching, yet her efforts to keep him seem in vain.
The Resolution
The climax takes a turn when Shashi’s father learns of the situation. Overcoming societal prejudice, he accepts Julie as his daughter-in-law, stating that he cannot lose his grandson over religious differences. He declares that humanity and family are more important than religion. Julie and Margaret are overjoyed and relieved of their burdens. The film concludes on a happy note, leaving the audience with a sense of hope. Because of its bold storytelling and hit music, Julie became a massive super-hit of its era.
