“Dhar convinced sequel without Akshaye Khanna”
Redefining the Indian Spy Thriller

The cinematic world is still reeling from the impact of Aditya Dhar’s 2025 blockbuster, Dhurandhar. As the film approaches its 100-day milestone, the industry is buzzing with a singular question: how will the sequel, The Revenge, sustain its momentum without its most magnetic force? The first installment was defined by a masterclass in “silent power” delivered by Akshaye Khanna. Playing the chilling antagonist Rehman Baloch, Khanna impressed audiences not through the typical “gravity-defying” stunts of modern masala cinema, but through a terrifyingly calm and grounded physical presence.
Khanna’s portrayal was a tactical and visceral departure from the loud, caricatured villains of the past. He dominated every frame with a piercing gaze and a calculated stillness that suggested a predator always three steps ahead of his prey. While his character’s journey ostensibly ended in the first part, the “invisible” weight of his performance has left a massive void. Film pundits are now eagerly watching to see how Aditya Dhar shapes The Revenge to fill that gap, ensuring the sequel lives up to the high-bar set by Baloch’s psychological warfare.
From Personal Vendetta to National Duty: The Rise of Hamza
While the shadow of Baloch looms large, The Revenge shifts its focus toward a narrative of unstoppable violence, grounded in rational and substantial motivations. The director meticulously reconstructs the transformation of Hamza (Ranveer Singh), providing a gritty backstory that justifies his descent into lethality. Hamza was once a disciplined soldier, but his life was shattered when a local legislator murdered his father and sister in a cold-blooded land-grabbing scheme. In a raw act of retaliation, Hamza eliminated twelve members of the legislator’s family, an act of vengeance that led to his imprisonment.

The Path of Retribution: Hamza’s Dark Origin
This dark history becomes the catalyst for his evolution into a top-tier operative. Recognizing his unique skill set and lack of hesitation, a government agency offers Hamza a choice: remain behind bars or accept a high-stakes proposal to work as a deep-cover spy in Pakistan. By anchoring the “unstoppable violence” in a deeply personal tragedy, Dhar ensures that the audience remains emotionally invested in Hamza’s mission, even as the body count rises.
Tactical Brilliance and the Spirit of Patriotism
The second half of the saga showcases the director’s talent for placing his hero in seemingly impossible tasks and delivering a convincing, high-octane “finish.” Hamza, leading a specialized team with the strategic support of the Balochistan Liberation Force, successfully neutralizes hundreds of terrorists working against Indian interests. The film skillfully balances raw action with a sophisticated flavor of “Patriotism,” moving beyond mere jingoism to focus on the intelligence and grit required for modern warfare.
Adroit Expertise in the End
The climax of The Revenge is defined by a brilliant psychological move rather than just a final firefight. Hamza secures his freedom and safe return to India by outmaneuvering an enemy country’s high-ranking official. By sending a video that proves the official sold classified national information to foreign interests for personal gain, Hamza uses political leverage to force his release. This blend of tactical brilliance and visceral combat confirms Dhurandhar: The Revenge as a landmark in the spy-thriller genre, proving that even without its original villain, the narrative remains as sharp as a blade.

This film shows the petriatism and how the person will die hard for patriotism and achieve the target fixed. Really Ranveer Singh did his job and performed well. It’s shows his commitment towards work. Good narration.
Nice review. Ranveer Singh has acted very well. And Aditya Dhar has returned with big bang as director and storyteller, he has set huge box office successful. Dhurandhar the revenge is violent, a loud movie with good performances from all the actors.
The story portrayed an invincible valor that a hero should possess, and given the mission of a spy backing intelligence and the narrative is virtuous the ppl are spellbound for its 2nd version. The climax of the story is all expected to end the terrorism that has been a menace subdued is all the melodrama. Good idea of the narration.
The picture highlights Ranveer Singhs. Soul barring performance as an patriotism. He hits back the enemies with intelligence and valor. Ranveer Singh acted well, and a nicely directed film.
The filmy hero is always a superman with multiple expertise. Taking a leaf from Hollywood, the Dirty Dozen, a death row convict is offered the choice of high risk national duty where he successfully completes and obtains pardon.
A welcome change inthe storyline.
