- KTR, Harish Rao Review Municipal Election Strategy with Khammam Leaders
- “What Face Will You Ask for Votes With?”: KTR Hits Out at Khammam Ministers
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is aggressively preparing for the upcoming municipal elections in the combined Khammam district, aiming to regain its political dominance in the region. After facing setbacks in the previous assembly elections, the party high command is now leaving no stone unturned to ensure a grand victory. The leadership is actively coordinating with district and constituency-level leaders to build a robust campaign structure, focusing on grassroots mobilization and strategic communication.
Momentum from Panchayat Success
The party’s renewed energy stems from its recent performance in the panchayat elections. Despite being in the opposition, BRS-supported candidates secured 127 Sarpanch (President) posts and 156 Upa-Sarpanch (Vice-President) positions across the combined district. This success, achieved in the face of stiff competition from the ruling Congress party, has acted as a morale booster for the party cadre. The leadership believes that this rural momentum will now shift toward urban centers, where public dissatisfaction with the current administration is reportedly high.

High-Level Preparatory Meeting in Hyderabad
To solidify the roadmap for the municipal polls, BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) and former minister T. Harish Rao chaired a crucial preparatory meeting in Hyderabad on Saturday. The meeting saw a large turnout of heavyweight leaders from the district, including former minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar, Rajya Sabha Member Vaddiraju Ravichandra, and former MP Nama Nageswara Rao. Other key participants included Bhadradri Kothagudem District President Rega Kantha Rao and former MLAs Banoth Chandravathi, Mecha Nageswara Rao, Kandalla Upender Reddy, Hari Priya, Thati Venkateswarlu and former Khammam zilla Parishad Chairman Lingala Kamal Raj.
KTR Directs Khammam Cadre to Target ‘Ministers’ Failures
Addressing the gathering, KTR issued a clear directive: the primary election agenda must be the “failure” of the three ministers representing the Khammam district. He launched a scathing attack on the Congress government, accusing them of stalling the district’s progress. KTR pointed out that numerous infrastructure projects initiated during the BRS regime—including internal roads, community halls, and modern markets—have been abandoned because the current government stopped the sanctioned funds.
“The Congress leaders have pushed the rural economy and agriculture into a deep crisis,” KTR remarked. “On the other hand, they have completely neglected urban development. With what face will they go to the people to ask for votes?” He challenged the local ministers to provide a detailed account of the funds released and development works completed in the district’s towns over the last two years.
A Call to Action for the Cadre
KTR further alleged that the current ministers are merely re-launching or laying fresh foundation stones for projects that were already completed or sanctioned under the BRS tenure. He stated that while the district saw ten years of unprecedented growth previously, the last two years have been marked by administrative stagnation.
In his concluding remarks, KTR urged the party ranks to expose these failures at every doorstep. He emphasized that the urban population is frustrated with the lack of welfare implementation and crumbling infrastructure. By channelling the spirit of their panchayat election performance, KTR expressed confidence that the BRS would hoist its flag across all municipalities in the Khammam district.

The underlying agony of people will boom & the outcome of this will showcase as rejection ( election ) results.
On every front the debacle of Govt administration has spanned across rural & urban zones of TS.
Govt runs on the external borrowings, and when the revenue it generates is falling short for ongoing or future projects & schemes.
During BRS Govt the results of development are showcased even though on the debt scale. Now people are questioning why they are not seeing visible performances of present Govt, inspite Govt borrowing.
While Urea debacle has eroded Rural base the invisible performance will erode the Urban segment, inspite INC being in power, the results in Municipal Bodies election if they go wrong way, will be seen as the last nail on the coffin during upcoming assembly elections.
