Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy delivered a powerful speech in Khammam district, using the legacies of legendary leaders NTR and YSR as a political shield to attack the opposition BRS. Speaking at Congress preparatory meeting for the municipal elections in Maddulapalli, Revanth Reddy noticed TDP flags in the crowd and immediately paid tribute to Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao on his death anniversary.

Honoring NTR’s Legacy …
He called NTR a “great leader” who brought self-respect to the Telugu people and introduced the revolutionary ₹2-a-kg rice scheme. Revanth Reddy strategically linked his own government’s “Sanna Biyyam” (fine rice) scheme to NTR’s vision, framing the Congress as the true successor of NTR’s pro-poor welfare.
A Call to “Bury” the BRS
The Chief Minister Revanth Reddy then made a bold appeal to the fans of NTR and followers of Chandrababu Naidu. He accused that the BRS party, led by KCR, had worked hard to destroy the TDP’s presence in Telangana. He urged the crowd to “bury” the BRS 100 meters deep and remove their party symbols from villages, calling it the only “true tribute” to NTR. By doing this, Revanth Reddy sought to pull the traditional TDP vote bank toward the Congress party ahead of the upcoming municipal elections.
Continuing YSR’s Vision
The Chief Minister also drew strong parallels between his policies and those of the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy. He reminded the audience that YSR’s first act as Chief Minister was to provide free electricity to farmers and waive their loans. Revanth Reddy highlighted that the Congress government has carried this vision forward by offering 24-hour free power to farmers and up to 200 units of free electricity to 52 lakh poor families. He sharply criticized the previous BRS government for failing to build “Double Bedroom” houses for the poor, contrasting it with his government’s record of sanctioning 4.5 lakh Indiramma houses in its very first year.

Inaugurating Multi-Crore Infrastructure Projects
During his visit to the Khammam district, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy launched several key development projects worth over ₹360 crore. He began by performing the “Bhumi Puja” (groundbreaking ceremony) for the new JNTU Engineering College buildings in Edulapuram Municipality, which are being constructed at a cost of ₹108.60 crore. In Kusumanchi, the CM laid the foundation stone for a new 100-bed hospital spread across 5 acres with an investment of ₹45 crore. He also officially started the work for the Munneru-Palair Link Canal, a major irrigation project costing ₹162.54 crore.
In addition to these new projects, the Chief Minister inaugurated a newly built Nursing College worth ₹25 crore and a massive Market Yard in Maddulapalli, which was built on 23 acres at a cost of ₹20 crore. The event saw the participation of several top leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and State Ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao, Uttam Kumar Reddy, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, and Vakiti Srihari. Khammam MP Ragasahayam Raghuram Reddy and other officials were also present at these programs.
