The celestial wedding of Lord Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy, popularly known as Bhadrachalam Sitarama Kalyanam, was celebrated with immense religious fervor at the Mithila Stadium in Bhadradri, often called the “Ayodhya of the South.” The mega event took place during the auspicious Abhijit Lagnam amidst the chanting of Vedic hymns and the traditional sounds of Nadaswaram. Thousands of devotees from the Telugu states and across the country gathered to witness this divine spectacle, filling the air with chants of “Jai Sri Ram.”

The festivities began early Friday morning with special rituals, including Suprabhata Seva, Abhishekam, and Alankarana. The processional deities were brought to the wedding mandapam in a colorful palanquin procession. Following age-old traditions, the idols were adorned with historic jewelry donated by Bhakta Ramadasu, including the famous Pachala Pathakam and Chintaku Pathakam. The ceremony reached its peak at noon when the priests performed the Jeelakarra Bellam ritual, followed by the Maangalya Dharanam at 12:15 PM using the sacred golden threads crafted by Ramadasu. The highlight of the event was the Talambralu ceremony, where pearls were showered upon the deities.

Representing the Telangana government, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and his wife offered silk clothes (Pattu Vastralu) and pearls (Mutyala Talambralu) to the deities. The Chief Minister carried the offerings on his head in a traditional procession before handing them over to the temple priests. Several high-profile dignitaries, including Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Ministers Konda Surekha, Tummala Nageswara Rao, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and Vakiti Srihari, were also in attendance. The grand Pattabhishekam (coronation) and Rathotsavam (chariot festival) are scheduled to take place on Saturday.
